To mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, we brought a powerful message to life: freedom deserves a voice. Together with the NGO Die kulturellen Erben e.V. ("The Cultural Heirs"), we created Voice of the Wall – a typeface made from original graffiti letters found on the Berlin Wall itself.
Each character carries the raw expression of those who once painted their hope, anger, and resistance onto concrete. With this font, people around the world were invited to send their own message of freedom – digitally, personally, and unmistakably.
The project lived on a dedicated platform, where users could generate and share personal messages using the Voice of the Wall typeface. We prepared and positioned the campaign for award submissions, sharing its emotional, cultural, and political relevance through carefully crafted case materials.
What started as a tribute became a tool — reminding us all that even after 30 years, walls still exist. And they still need voices.
